Shared home agreement worksheet
Agree how your home runs before small frustrations build up. Edit the starter points on chores, costs, supplies, guests and quiet hours, add your own, then print one copy everyone can see.
Your entries stay in this page’s memory. They are not sent or saved, and reloading or leaving clears the worksheet, so print before you go. Nothing is imported into a HouseifyNow account.
This worksheet records household expectations. It is not a legal contract, tenancy agreement or legal advice, and it does not change any lease or rental terms.
Write your agreement
One name per line, up to 8 names of 40 characters each. Leave blank to write names by hand after printing.
Pick a date to read the agreement again together.
Agreement points
Untick a point to leave it off the printout. Each point can be up to 300 characters, and you can add up to four of your own.
Our shared home agreement
Agreed by
A household agreement between the people named above. Not a legal contract or tenancy agreement.
How to agree a shared home agreement
Sit down together for twenty minutes when nobody is upset. Read each starter point aloud, change the words until everyone can live with them, and untick anything that does not apply to your home.
Keep points observable. “Keep the kitchen clean” invites different standards; “dishes washed or in the dishwasher before bed” gives everyone the same finish line. Add your own points for anything specific, such as bikes in the hallway or a shared car.
Choose a review date a few weeks away. Agreements written in the first week of a tenancy or term often need adjusting once routines settle, and a planned review makes changing them normal rather than a complaint.
Example: a four-person student flat
This is an illustrative example, not a real household. Four students keep the chores, supplies, spaces and concerns points, rewrite the guests point as “Overnight guests at most two nights a week, with a message in the group chat first”, and add one point of their own: “Recycling goes out on Thursday night; whoever is on bins that week takes it.” They print the sheet, initial it and set a review date three weeks later.

When the agreement needs a shared home
This worksheet is separate from HouseifyNow and does not import into an account. In HouseifyNow, household members share chores, room cleaning and shopping lists. The demo uses example data, so you can look around before deciding.
